Legal Practice Hall of Fame Class of 2023: Stephen L. Beaman

Stephen L. Beaman, founding partner of Beaman & Bennington, PLLC, has practiced law since 1974.  In federal court, he has served as a bankruptcy trustee for the Eastern District of North Carolina for over 30 years. He has represented debtors and creditors in all chapters of bankruptcy, and for several years was recognized as a specialist in the area of bankruptcy law in North Carolina.  

Mr. Beaman has represented Wilson County Department of Social Services for over 30 years, and Wilson County for over 10 years.  He is still currently the attorney for both. His other primary areas of practice include real estate, estate planning, estate administration, collections, as well as business and corporate law.  

Mr. Beaman grew up in Greene County on a farm and has two brothers and two sisters.  Mr. Beaman is the proud father of two sons, Patrick and David. He has three grandsons, Carson, Jack, and Graham. When he is not at the office, you can often find him attending an activity for one of his three grandsons or riding his bicycle.
