Dispute Resolution Section Mediator Certification Scholarship
This scholarship aims to support individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through their activities, background, and life experiences, as well as members of groups that have been historically underrepresented in the legal profession and who are interested in the practice of dispute resolution.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Applicant must have DRC provisional pre-training approval;
- Applicant must explain their commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion as described above; and
- Applicant must demonstrate commitment to practicing dispute resolution.
Scholarship Details
The scholarship award will be $990.
The Dispute Resolution Section intends this scholarship to be used toward a mediator certification training. To that end, the scholarship check will be written directly to the organization or individual who is providing the training course. Interested candidates should complete the application form found below.

Please submit the letter of approval from the DRC.
Section 3: Essay
Please submit responses to the following questions in essay format. The questions may be answered in a single essay or in multiple essays. However, the total word count for all essay responses combined should not exceed 1,000 words.
- Describe your commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, whether in your work, community or elsewhere.
- Describe why you believe you are a qualified candidate for this scholarship, including your commitment to the practice of dispute resolution.
