Courtney Latourrette Selected as a YLD Star of the Quarter
Courtney Latourrette is an NCBA Law Student Rep at Elon Law in her 2L year. After moderating two panels this year, participating in many events hosted by the Young Lawyers Division, helping plan multiple events at Elon Law, and holding tabling events at Elon to encourage membership in the NCBA, Courtney was selected as a YLD Star of the Quarter. She became involved with the NCBA’s YLD because, as a first-generation law student, she is passionate about bringing attention to the programs that the NCBA YLD has to offer! From socials and panels to committee meetings and other various programming, Courtney has excelled at becoming an advocate for other students and attorneys to take advantage of all the Division has to offer.
The YLD offers an enriching community of young lawyers from various different backgrounds and is a great resource, especially for first-generation law students like me.
Courtney participated in planning some wonderful events this quarter! In February, Elon Law hosted a Women in the Law panel with panelists from diverse practices of law. Panelists included fellow Elon Alum Manisha Patel, Kristen Shearin, and Brien Rose Hub! The panelists shared their experiences as women in the practice of law, offering sage advice to Elon Law students. This past weekend, Elon Law also hosted a North Carolina Bar Foundation Wills for Heroes clinic and assisted 14 first responders and their spouses. This clinic was fortunate enough to have sixteen law student volunteers, nine attorney volunteers, and four notary volunteers with the help of Courtney!
We are honored to have Courtney representing the NCBA at Elon Law and look forward to all the great work she continues to become involved in. Are you interested in helping Courtney represent the NCBA at accredited law schools across the state? Learn about the NCBA Law Student Division.
