Citizen Lawyer Class of 2024: Kate Gordon Maynard
Kate Maynard serves as Robinson Bradshaw’s general counsel. She advises the firm on legal issues including ethics and professional responsibility, risk management and compliance, and privacy and cybersecurity. Kate is a litigator with experience ranging from complex multi-jurisdictional matters to eminent domain jury trials. Kate holds multiple data privacy certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Kate played an integral role in the recent creation of CLIMB, or Charlotte Legal Initiative to Mobilize Businesses. As a non-profit legal services organization, CLIMB provides pro bono business law services to historically under-represented entrepreneurs and small business owners of limited means through a network of volunteer lawyers from Charlotte law firms. Kate helped establish CLIMB and continues to be heavily involved as a founding board member, vice chair and treasurer as the organization continues to grow.
In addition, Kate serves on the board of directors and governance and executive committees for the Levine Museum of the New South.
She has served in various leadership positions at her church and has volunteered with her children’s schools and activities, including Boy Scouts of America and Odyssey of the Mind.
