Over 70 percent of our members are active in our 31 practice area sections, ranging from Administrative Law to Zoning, Planning & Land Use. Members have access to exclusive newsletter content, sponsor networking events and typically plan their section-specific CLE programs.
Four divisions serve the diverse needs of our members, with the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) being the largest, and including members of the Law Student Division. The Paralegal Division is the fastest-growing division. We also have a Senior Lawyers Division for members age 65 and older.

Public Service & Pro Bono
The NCBA sponsors ongoing volunteer opportunities to provide pro bono assistance to North Carolinians who need it most. Programs include Lawyer on the Line, NC LEAP, Law-Related Education, and the N.C. Cancer Pro Bono Legal Project.
