Young Lawyers Division
Membership in the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the North Carolina Bar Association is open to all NCBA members who are 36 years of age and under or who have been practicing law for 10 years or less. Membership in the YLD is free.
The Young Lawyers Division is often referred to as the service arm of the NCBA because so many young lawyers are involved in a multitude of worthwhile projects and public service endeavors. YLD provides a pathway into both the legal profession and the North Carolina Bar Association, with countless opportunities to lead and serve. From Law Week and Wills for Heroes to Ask-A-Lawyer Day and N.C. Legal Feeding Frenzy, not to mention dozens more initiatives, the NCBA YLD is recognized in North Carolina and nationally as an exemplary organization powered by young lawyers for young lawyers.
