Davis of Robinson Bradshaw in Charlotte was recently sworn in as president of the Mecklenburg County Bar. Davis is the firm’s sixth attorney to serve in this capacity, preceded by Robert E. Harrington, A. Ward McKeithen, Mark W. Merritt, Russell M. Robinson II and Robert C. Sink.

Doerr of Robinson Bradshaw in Charlotte recently received the Mecklenburg County Bar’s 2023 Outstanding Individual Attorney Pro Bono Award. Doerr, as noted in the Mecklenburg Bar News, was honored “for his dedicated pursuit of equal justice for children facing education challenges and disenfranchised voters in North Carolina.”

Hagan of Ellis & Winters LLP in Raleigh was recently sworn in as secretary-treasurer of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) for 2023-24. The IADC is an “invitation-only global legal organization for attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests.”

Perry who serves as chairman of the board.

Lewis of Michael Best & Friedrich, LLP in Charlotte has been elected chair of the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy Board of Directors for 2023-24. Lewis serves as co-chair of the Legal Legends of Color Subcommittee of the NCBA Minorities in the Profession Committee and was a member of the NCBA Leadership Academy’s Class of 2016.

Lumsden of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP in Charlotte was recognized at the Mecklenburg County Bar Annual Meeting as the recipient of Legal Aid of North Carolina’s Individual Pro Bono Award. Lumsden was honored for his volunteer hours spent serving clients in the Legal Aid of North Carolina’s Landlord Tenant Clinic.

Marshall and former North Dakota Secretary of State Al Jaeger recently became the initial recipients of the Lifetime of Achievement from the Notary Public Administrators (NPA) Section of the National Association of Secretaries of State. In addition, the award has been named in their honor as the Jaeger-Marshall NPA Achievement Award.

Patel, PLLC in Greensboro has been elected president-elect of the Greensboro Bar Association for the 2023-2024 bar year. Patel represents the 24th Judicial District on the N.C. State Bar Council and was a member of the NCBA Leadership Academy’s Class of 2017.

Poisson Jr. of Poisson, Poisson, Bower PLLC in Wadesboro has been inducted into the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, which honors attorneys who have distinguished themselves in the workers’ compensation field. Poisson is a board-certified specialist in workers’ compensation law and former N.C. State Bar councilor.
