Statement Addresses Charlotte School of Law
Kearns Davis, president of the North Carolina Bar Association, has issued the following statement regarding the Charlotte School of Law:
The students, alumni, and faculty of the Charlotte School of Law are valued members of the North Carolina Bar Association. The NCBA has been closely monitoring their situation since December to determine how we can help, including regular contact with our NCBA student representatives and communications with faculty, the ABA, and the law school administration.
The situation remains fluid. Every student’s needs are different, so our primary role is to inform students and help them connect with various resources, such as our BarCARES intervention program, professional assistance with student loan issues, and the North Carolina Lawyer Assistance Program.
The NCBA is a community of legal professionals, and our professional colleagues are facing very difficult circumstances. As an organization, we will continue to work to assist those affected by the developing situation, and we encourage our members individually to reach out and offer personal support.
